i think if you place the good on a slant it will not have those problems. I'm going to try that tomorrow.

I think that would result in more runs. Perhaps your application method is different on the horizontal areas, even slightly, to where you're putting too much paint there since that is what causes the runs.
Press all the paint you can out of that roller (or as much as you can do within about 10-15 seconds) then firmly apply it to the surface. If done right it will leave enough paint to cover the surface but wont show any signs of running at any angle the surface happens to be on.
