It's laid down flat as of the time I walked away from it. In my experience, it only gets flatter as it dries. It is on there very thin as you can see, and where there's bondo it has absorbed a lot of the paint there.

The only time I noticed any thing like orange peel was when the paint wasn't thin enough and/or I had put too much of it on. I would then "wring" out the paint on an unpainted surface nearby, then roll over the area with too much paint a few times. I was surprised at having to add more mineral spirits, but it was absolutely necessary. If not the paint doesn't lay out as well and seemed to get picked up easier by the roller where wetter/thinner paint stayed put.

The one "bad" thing that stands out now are the sanding scratches on the hood and decklid. They will still be visible after 6 more coats, but will be mostly hidden.. At least that's my experience with the Almond color. I'm not going to use this hood anyways
