Definitely bite the bullet and go to a more coarse grit, and sand it till its flat - you really should see it when its there.
its a combination of maybe a little too thick initial coat, and me not knowing how far to wetsand...so i probably didnt sand enough. lesson learned, easy enough to fix and get it nice and flat...or it should be easy atleast
