I think wetsanding/polishing that area could make it shine, so you may want to try that first. I assume you were done with your coats? Then go head and try your final wetsanding with 2000 or so and see if you can get everything to look the same, then go ahead and polish it.

On my little test areas I did a couple months back, after the final wetsand (which I did with 1500), the surface was kind of glossy at that point. If there's existing areas of splotchyness, which means less paint got there on that layer, I think you'll end up going through that area to the layer underneath, while the glossy areas this wont be necessary and you'll be polishing a different layer for those areas. I'm not sure if it will matter in terms of how it looks..

let us know, because i am finding those here and there on my car, but I really am trying to avoid them by rolling over areas a few more times to try to get the paint to lay evenly..
