Ok, If I must come clean, Darren may not be quite as bad as I usually make him in the stories...but like I tell him, "Somebody has to be the antagonist, the villain". It's not my fault that he plays the part so well!

Dale's Gremlin was indeed the top Mopar this year, although the "Quickest Mopar" award went to Matt Blasco (EFIDart), and deservedly so. Technically, for Drag Week, the Gremlin is defined as an AMC with a Mopar engine.

Drag Week 2014 numbers

To recap the changes year to year: In 2014 He had 4.56 gears in the Dana 60, which caused it to be gear limited on the Nitrous, so for 2015 he went to 4.10. The 2014 440 featured Venolia flat tops with 64cc Indy SRs for 10.75 compression and the 272/639 Howards flat tappet was in at 100 degrees.
After melting two of the Venolias, he bought Probe dish pistons but also switched to 75cc Indy -1s, so compression dropped to 9.0. Then he backed the cam up to 104 installed. Then the changes to the front suspension.

The result was a car easily capable of trapping 10mph more, but he only picked up twelve hundredths in Average ET. He showed up expecting to run 8's, and left, like most Drag Weekers on Friday night, a little disappointed.
