There was a book excerpt in Automotive News recently about how a son of the Sultan bought enough one-off Bentleys for the firm to start-up their own custom department. They would draw sketches or concepts of what they thought they could sell the guy. Basically, the company based the majority of their operating budget on income from this one customer. Amazing!
