Interesting reading...look at this section:

We calculated that for our shop to seriously compete in the first Challenge could cost upwards of $25,000.00 in lost time in the shop, machine work, parts, dyno and testing time and travel expenses. Many entrants do not figure their own time and think the cost is much less than it really is.

Why did his shop do this calculation? Why did he bring this up? There's easier ways to say someones an amatuer.........This statement is not about Moparts directly, this is personal...about not deciding to enter....and having to suffer the result....

I wonder if Hughes was thinking of entering under their own "banner", ...but chose to back another horse (Moparts) rather than ride their own.....

and in his eyes he lost...all that potential publicity, he feels he coulda ridden better himself....so instead of balming himself...he blames the Jockey..

...so now he's trying to shoot the horse ad Jockey...not because it's a bad horse...simply because he's a bitter about his own lack of participation and control...so someone has to pay......so he's just kicked the cat..

Mr Hughes, be honest with yourself...and you'll sleep nights.
