Ive had several members pm me asking if I could give a rundown of parts needed for the spindle swap by year.

Here is what I figured out either by research or by actually doing the swap.

72-93 half ton balljoints are the same. The Dakota spindle will bolt on without modification.

Use 87-90 Dakota spindle on the 72-78 Ram.
Use 91-96 Dakota spindle on the 79-93 Ram,this will cause fewer headaches with outer tierod ends (ask me how I know).

For the 72-83 Rams use either the 1 yr only 84 Ram rotor or the the 76 Newyorker c-body rotors, these both use the same bearings as the 87-96 Dakotas. This will allow you to retain your 5x4.5" bolt pattern.

For the 84-93 Rams the stock rotors will bolt to the Dakota spindles.

If you use these parts you should still be able to use your stock tierod ends. However you may still need to use the longer c-body adjusting sleeves. Moog es440s was the part # I used but somone said it was no longer available. Just ask for 76 Newyorker sleeves.

You may need to grind a little on the outer edge of the lower control arms.

Thats really about it. All this info is for half ton trucks.

Hope this helps.
