That was a NMCA class I believe. It would have been all the Manufacturers. I only remember the 62-65 cars in that class. The 409 Chevys would have been at 3000 and the Hemi at 3400. A guy in our club named Jess Jordan ran the class and I remember him complaning about the weight brakes. He ran 64 Plymouth Hemi.

Thats 4 tenths he has to make up which I find it also wrong that the hemi had to weigh more..

Jess Jordan was in the early years of that class. He had a red 65 plymouth called the sting wich was the same car new that a black guy from detroit had original owned called the sting. Johnny Kelly then raced the car in pro nss. he still owns it and turned it back into a b car. It is still called the sting. The hemi cars were not penalized that much actualy a high rise fe motor had to weigh more. My brothers 64 car had to weigh 3300 lbs. with a 462 wedge. The latest car in that class was 68 cuda's and dart's. The pontiacs were the lightest and could never make the power that a hemi could make so the fields were pretty close. I thought the class was awsome to bad it just did not take off.
