Bales was shafted out of the best engineered/best appearing awards. I looked at the dragster that won BE, it was a plain-jane FED with black rattle-can paint. I guess the tech men were impressed with the inline six cylinder and manual trans. The BA award car had very nice paint, but was one of many cookie-cutter Cobalts out there.

The detail and creativity on the Connersville Bullet are outstanding, shame on NHRA.
