For "regular people", the limit for a rollcage is 11.0 seocnds, under that and you need a cage. In SS, however, the cage is not needed in a class, where the national record is in the 9's. With that logic, requering SFI cage from cars in a class, where one or two cars have barely run under the 8.5 second barrier so far, just doesn't make much sence. I think in the other S & SS classes, the safety requirements are based on indexes, SS/IA index is 11.0, which still doesn't require a cage, and SS/HA is 10.85 = cage. Since SS/AH index is 9.80, following the same logic, a SFI 25.5 spec cage shouldn't be needed.
