that doesn't sound right. re-check it Joe before you spend any money on it! the camshaft turns 1/2 of the crankshaft speed. it takes 2 revolutions of the crankshaft to turn the camshaft 1 full turn. it is possible that the crankshaft is not at TDC#1, but rather TDC#6 piston. If this is the case, check to see how close the rotor is pointing towards #6(1 and 6 are companion cylinders). If all looks good there, there might be something wrong with the valve train, like possibly a burned valve(I hope not, but the possibility exhists).
