...that was the conclusion I came to with the previous info of...

36=4mm...that would be ~.157"
37=6mm...that would be ~.236"

...then I knew it wasn't (most likely) the internal wire itself.

I do understand the 50 amp is a spike at start up & is not constant, but runs at ~39.
