On a side note, I dont really see anyone hot rodding the base model 09 - up Challengers . Seems to me that would be the easiest gen111 hot rod swap of all. Pick up nice clean body, add the hemi drivetrain and everything you need for hemi conversion from junkyard, go nuts on the engine, add sticky tires and other race stuff ( maybe RT stickers if you like). Should be way ahead on cost vs a base RT and much faster if done rite.


The reason more folks don't do that is you usually end up spending more than just starting with an RT to begin with, assuming you want all the modern stuff to still function. Getting everything working would not be for the faint of heart or wallet. Junkyards don't seem to let that stuff go cheap either.

The cheap way to do it take a v6 car, gut out all the electronic and safety garbage, cut out the dead weight similar to how we did with the drag pak program,
and do a Gen 3/drag race friendly 2 or 3 speed trans/solid axle conversion. Even with fabrication work for the trans and axle install, it's less expensive than
cloning an RT. The downside is....at the end you have a race car with no emissions legality so it couldn't be plated in a state
that does testing. A person could get away with street driving it in MI, but if anything bad happened and they decided to go after you, they would win.
