Many make their backbraces from 2x3 tubing. Nothing wrong with that but can be hard to fit. There are other options. One is just use flat plate. Make a top piece and then side filler panels. Yes, you will have to grind and smooth those seams, but it's easy to fit one this way. I have also used round tubing bent around rear of housing and do it in one piece. Then cap that top and bottom. Lots of options. Don't assume you HAVE to use 2x3

Those pics you posted, the brace is built from plate with the edge weld seams ground smooth most likely. COULD be broken plate, but I doubt it.

Nice housings are a lot of work. Chassis Engineering is doing one for me and Clayton told me his guy would have 50 hours in it
