Hefner 9" housing has internal bracing and is very precisely machined on mount surface and tubing mounts. Strange sells a version of this housing as their own.
Buying new, there is no way I'd go with anything but a strange ultracase. Wicked strong pinion support, forced pinion oiling, large pinion shaft option, speed sensor mount, capable of 9 1/2" gears if needed, etc... Not much cost difference, and you will never have to think about the rear ever again.
