To each there own... I agree that 71 is the last year of the true muscle cars. But that don't mean that you should turn your back on the later cars.
I have been getting all positive comments for years now when I'm driving my ugly old 74 challenger. I've almost caused accidents while poeple were looking at the car. And to tell you the truth, I've had some pretty hot dates because of the car. It's a nice rush talking my ugly girl out for a cruise. Most people have no clue what year it is but everyone notices the car.
I did'nt paint it, it had this black imron on it when I bought it in 1985 from a friend.
