I would consider finding a t-bird turbo coupe for a donor....very powerful, and lightweight powertrain,and great mileage to boot....my VW bus gets 30 plus.....I went up Raton, N.M. pass at 80 and climbin in it 3 years ago.....(it has turbo coupe power, and the guy in the early Camaro's face was priceless when I passed him,LOL)...the T.C's are cheap too!...the donor I got was 200 bucks, was hit in the rear. Still think a big block Mopar would be SWEEEEET! O.G.
