Its Winter time and things are a little slow on Moparts so I would like to start a post about nitrous. Do posts posts about 9, 10, and 11 second cars impress you. I am old school and believe anyone should be able to achieve these times with NA combo's. Anybody can go out and spend 400.00 and bolt on a SYSTEM, open a valve, and push a button. What is the skill involved with this. Build a 11 second engine, add a bottle and brag about how fast your car is. I think we should have two fastest car lists on Moparts. One for NA and one for making HP the easy way. Old school racer here that takes pride in doing it the hard way. Heck even 8 second nitrous cars do nothing for me.

Nitrous use at the 9, 10, 11-second levels are fairly elementary and can be achieved with a "$400.00" system if certain areas in the package are good enough versus having a 1-run wonder. But the minute you start dipping into the low 9's and faster a person needs to really start checking things and paying close attention. Lastly, at $400 it must be a used/old SWAP MEET system

8-seconds or faster? Nitrous takes no skill? You really need to educate yourself more about the subject before making that type of statement.

Fast nitrous, N/A or any other power-adder type car takes LOTS of skill, hard work, time, money, patience, and power management experience to run the numbers and be consistent or faster each pass. There is nothing easy about it. To be fair you should really see what effort goes into one of these type cars on a race weekend. I think you'd have a new found respect for the cars and folks turning the wrenches on a nitrous application.

I use to be closed-minded about bracket racing UNTIL I went to Norwalk in '04. Being around Eric M., Mr. P-Body, 440Jim and Pat Taylor reversed my thinking about bracket racing. There is a strategy to it, which makes it a challenge and requires focus/experience, so I have lots of respect towards bracket racers. Will I ever do it? Probably not. But most importantly I learned something NEW during that weekend.

Bottom line is I like anything that's fast no matter whats under the hood to make it FASTTTT! But hey, that's just me........
