Well.. if people buy a new truck and see some steel hanging off the back of the rear end they tend to think things arent right and its a bandaid... people get a bit weird that way... I dont know how many times I was asked why is there a big chunk of steel hanging off the trans(a harmonics damper) EDIT That rear end was designed to be a car/light truck rear end and not the heavy duty stuff
