there was one back in 1972 in Eldora Iowa. The dealership went belly up due to one of the brothers tapping the account or so the story went. They were into the performance cars and drag racing at area strips. Before the bank siezed the assets they transferred several vehicles at cost to another implement business they owned. they also bought a bunch of unwanted cars at the auction one of which was a 64 Polara with a smoke trans. I bought that from them for I think 35 or 75.00.
They also had a red on red 66 Belvedere 1 hemi /auto car missing it's engine trans and other associated parts. A local 18 year old bought the car for 300.00 and was going to put a 273 auto in it and use it as a driver. I remember him saying I bought basically a brand new car for 300.00 that just needs and engine and trans.
Before I left the area he was driving it around with snow tires on the back. I often wonder where it wound up.
