Thought about what you were doing after posting. Looks like someone did a really nice job with the adapter to GM bell.

I ran 5.82@118 in the eighth mile. Shut off early and did not get quarter mile ET's. Powerglide tranny with a 6.17 rear gear and a 31" rear tire. The car weighed just under 3,000 with this engine. I posted the info on the first page of this thread. But, I think these numbers are extremely close.

You should get your friend to do more of these adapters for the GM it is the nicest, in the picture I have seen yet.
