True, but it was "entirely understood" that it was taboo. So universally recognized that no one, (almost no one) would admit to using it, and the teams went to remarkable lengths to hide it.
NHRA not having the specific rule and verbage in the rulebook for NOS in that class is like your employee handbook not specifically listing animal husbandry as forbidden in your company's office. It's a given, you should know better, and both will get you terminated. LOL
I have to call that BS along with the hear say evidence you posted. if it's not against the rules it's legal.
