Yep, that is one thing that changed completely since I was a kid into cars. They became investments to a certain crowd which raised the price on everything related to the hobby. Gas prices have also gone up a bit since I started driving, although when adjusted for inflation they aren't that high. Gas prices have cut down the driving for fun thing I did back in the day.
