Stu....if the lawyer seems to be pushing you and Sally more towards a trust instead of a will, make sure the 2 of you understand it well. The father in law of my buddy at work just passed away at 80 something a while back, and had set up a trust instead of making a will. He believed he was making it easier on his family by doing so. Turns out, it is going to cost $20K to get the trust administered! It has to be done by a lawyer, instead of someone entrusted to be the executor of the estate. The transfer of the title at the DMV should not be that big of a deal. It might be helpful to her also if you make sure the power bill, water bill, etc is fixed to where she doesn't have to pay a deposit to simply get those things transferred into her name. It can't be easy having to suddenly have to deal with all of this stuff. But seeing you here asking what's the best way to do this or that just proves that Stu is still Stu......doing anything and everything he can to make things better for those around him.
