Sort of... Your not hacking it, you need to drill the spot welds at the front and rear pan joint. Your going to shorten the front pan to accommodate the wheel base. You are drilling the spots where the floor pan connects to the side rails as well. The tubing on the sides becomes the new side rails, so the pans stay intact and the same width as either donor car. I'm sure the LX cars are cheaper simply because they are older.
