I find it odd they say to send the VIN tag with the dash, where as in the past, they said if a VIN tag was on the dash it would be removed and destroyed...I wouldn't send the VIN tag, if it's lost, your going to find it difficult to have a repro made

Too much risk to let the vin tag out of your sight. Handle that part of the project yourself.

There is no way in heck I would let any vin tag, fendertag or paperwork out of my control on a project. Remove it and install it on new dash pad yourself.
