Cool swap, I also picked up a T56 for mine that will be going in this spring.

But I have to ask, why is this in the handling section???

If you ever get your car out to a serious track/course, you'll find out how much benefit a 5 or 6 spd transmission is,...a 3spd auto or 4 spd manual ending in a 1:1 finial just doesn't "make the grade"

I understand how a 3 spd auto doesn't make the grade....

But if would think a 4spd manual is fine on the track if you pick the proper rear gears. The one or two overdrives are for street.

Tim Werner in his 68 Valiant does fine with a 4spd. And close ratio gearset is prefered.

Most road race 5 speeds have 1:1 final gear drive ratios. Serious road race Jerico trans' are all 1:1 final drives. http://jericoperformance.com/downloads/5_speed_ratio.pdf
