I know they are only rated at 550 ft/lbs (for the Viper trans), but mine survived 711 rear wheel ft/lbs and I witnessed a blown Viper make over 700 ft/lbs to the wheels as well. Both are stock trannys though the Viper had a cabon fiber clutch. Short of some serious high output engine, both of you should be fine with what you have.




I was just going to say... These transmissions seem to have a wide aftermarket or how else would they be able to handle a supercharged viper.


the early t56s were designed and built by Borg Warner and some they were better quality. The lt1s didn't have the adapter plate the later ones do and that's why the input shaft are longer I believe. The 03 and up have 1 piece counter shafts and are stronger than the earlier ones in that respect. The Viper models had better synchros and a bigger main shaft across the board.
