I say go with a 408 stroked 360. you can make 500 hp on one easy, and with aluminum heads, you save 50 lbs off the front end.

with aluminum intake, heads, water pump housing, pump, timing cover, and then headers over manfolds, you could have a 500 hp small block that weighs 100+ lbs less than an original all iron small block.
