I can't remember the specifics, but the t56 in the lt1 cars was made by someone else and then the ls1 cars had another manufacturer. The lt1 trans are better than the ls1 model. They do have a different length input shaft though. I believe ones an inch longer than the other. I'll be swapping in the lt1 style if they make the right bellhousing and such for them.
