I recently raced an 1/8th mile track for the first time and actually enjoyed it! As mentioned, it's much easier on parts. I did have to go back and look at some old 1/4 mile timeslips to "translate" what the car was doing compared to past runs. It was like converting metric to standard for me!
I did find that I had run a best ever mph in the 1/8th (102mph) and wished I'd been at a 1/4 mile track to see 10's n/a.
'63 Dodge 330 11.19 @ 121 mph Pump gas, n/a, through the mufflers on street tires with 3.54's. 3,600 lbs. 10.01 @ 133mph with a 250 shot of nitrous an a splash of race gas. 1.36 60 ft. 3,700 lbs.
