This is more than a good idea. I would say it is mandatory for any torsion bar sizing over 1" for the simple fact that once you start inputting these kind of suspension loads, the unibody starts flexing. Once you turn the body structure into a component of the suspension and it starts flexing, your ability to tune and respond goes out the window.
