Maybe, maybe not. It depends of course I've had motors with good race pistons that had a hoop of clearances and other motors that didn't, you have to check to make sure I had one motor that slightly bent some of the exhaust valves due to the valve pockets not being wide enough to clear the outer edge of those valves in those heads I had checked the piston to valve clearances up and down, it had more than .100 every where but on the sides of thee those valves Clay is your friend when in doubt
