I don't think the 383 Super Stockers fared very well. In '68 they ran the same SS class as the 440 GTX's. Of the stockers, mine was one of the better running 383's but it fit in the class better than most cars. The weight/hp class break for my car was 10.50 and my car factored at 10.53. The 383 RR's class break was at 10.00 and they factored somewhere around 10.22. Remember, the stocker ran on a maximum 10" wide slick and the SS cars could run on a 10" tire. That was a major difference.
