Oh Yeah I read that too, but I think the concept is sneaky and if it's executed correctly it could work....or possibly does work and we don't even know it.

but LSP asked about pictures....so. If nothing else I hope the pics of the 'doorstop' help people understand the stealthy concept.

There's maybe only a few combos that would benefit from it...like a stroked 71-72 340 TQ or something else with a tall deck and a deep valley...maybe a stroked 455 olds or Pontiac.

You could Conceivably model a known "good" single plane and copy its cross sectional areas (as best as you can) but you'll still lose something in the obviously poor approach angles to the heads.

It would be interesting to make a very thin mold of just the very top outside of a factory intake..... just to see what is conceivable to fit underneath it. work

to stick with a dual plane you would have to get the 4 common paired plenums as large as possible because they feed the individual runners and with a bit of taper toward the carb they can act like 2 larger "main" plenums, the biggest restriction are the inevitable acute angles mainly to the inboard 3-4-5-6 cylinders.
