Plenty of tracks within a 4 hour drive. Lots of Mopars and race cars. Not many earthquakes, tornadoes, creepy stuff that can kill you. Relatively mild winters and summers.
Still fairly conservative away from the cities, although the people coming in from NY, NJ and MD are messing that up.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
