It was a good thing I decided not to make a second pass that day. We got through Chicago pretty early, before the afternoon traffic snarl. Some of the other racers got caught up in that and it took them literally hours to get through the Chicago area. I heard reports of several cars breaking wheels and suspension parts and all of that. Interstate 80 looked like It had been carpet bombed or something.
The hot rod needs a cup holder, that's for sure.
I wasn't able to go fast enough through that stretch to cause any damage. That section was like 17 or 18 miles and it took us around 2 hours. Not much stopping but just a low gear crawl.
