The sound of the valvetrain when we arrive at our hotel usually determines a lash check or not. I have learned after hours at 3500RPM and engine temps sometimes over 200 that it sounds like it has 1/4" of lash but when you check the next morning it is fine.


Right on, thank you. I've definitely noticed that with mine, if I drive it all day it sounds like there are mini jackhammers under the valve covers. I was so worried about it last time I checked lash the next day, and they were all where I'd set them at the start of this season. lol
