Is your dampener marked every ninety degrees? If so bring #1 on the firing stroke at TDC and check it, move the crank 90 degrees clockwise and check #8 and then work your way down the rest of the firing order Let us know what you find Some of these dang motor gremlins can drive us absolutely nuts If you never make a mistake racing you ain't doing enough
