I have covered my vin for at least 20 years and the fender tag is in the glove box. When they ask about originality I laugh and dare them to find an original part on the car. It's just a pile of unrestored old various year and model parts with some after market stuff thrown in, not a collectible over restored trailer queen show car that i'd be afraid to actually drive.
