Most front shock washers are the correct size to weld to the shell in the control arm, don't be afraid to really cook the weld so they stay together. IMPORTANT...........
don't just tack a couple of the sides of the washer. with that i just beat the washer off the sleeve. i had to almost weld the washer completely on the outer sleeve. worked like a charm but i wouldn't say it was as easy as pie
