If you have acces to a press and welder, the welded washer trick works great. Most front shock washers are the correct size to weld to the shell in the control arm, don't be afraid to really cook the weld so they stay together. I use a cutoff wheel to split the sleave off the pin, with this method I can have a pair apart in less than half an hour.

same here , I weld in 1/2" steel flat washer , just the right size and then use a threaded rod and nut to push it out in the press , never had onenot come out , just be careful you don't weld the shell to the control arm ...
