Why do you want the peak torque at such low RPM? Isn't the motor just going to blow thru the converter once loaded with the weight of the vehicle?
You don't put a race type converter in something like this. You use nice big towing style converters. There is power everywhere, so you dont need the crutch of a narrow powerband converter. You need to "unlearn" alot when dealing with this sort of stuff. this is the only picture I have of the engine in that configuration...
