I did a resto mod on a 69 Hemi orange A12 Six Pack Super Bee 4 speed. 440 to a 543ci stroker. Edelbrock ported heads. Full roller. New six pack set up. Dyno last month @715 ft lb of torque. To watch air fuel ratio I added an air fuel sensor in the exhaust. It runs very rich. 8 to 10:1 ratio. Very rich. I swapped the new carbs with the Six Pack carbs on my other Super Bee just to test. Those are modified and jetted up. Same results. Rich. Most people told me if anything the new stock Holley carbs on a motor like this would have the 543" running lean. Just the opposite. I think the problem may be that ive used a Carter high volume fuel pump. Its the one they sell @ 440 source. Is the pressure too high causing fuel to push past the needle and seat? The other Bee with the same carbs does not run rich like that. Ive ordered a Holley regulator winch will come next week. Could it be something else? Thanks in advance.
