You still need to have a kickdown for the transmission. With the 4L60E it is probably a throttle position sensor because the ecu needs some way of knowing how hard you're pressing the gas.

As for the low first gear, well a heavier car and/or a numerically lower rear end gear ratio like a 3.55 or lower will benefit the most from the steeper first gear of the GM trans.




you can build the 700r4 basically the same insides as the 4l60e and the 700 uses the TV able, if you use the 4l60e you will need the TPS kit and programmer.... the 700 will be a lil cheaper since you will not need a programmer all you will need is the lock up switch or a psi switch to activated the lock up..




Running a 6.1 L with electronic throttle. So I would use the 6.1L TPS signal for kickdown.
