I know when I installed the original points replacement Ignitor II they told me to bypass the
ballast resistor and run it with a full 12V.

The Ignitor I is different. That's the weird thing,
I was running an Ignitor II in an stock disty and
replaced it with a billet disty that also has
an Ignitor II in it. I expected it to run at least
the same with the adjustable advance features. I somehow lost a couple inches of mercury and it's
not running as well.
