IMHO,best bang for the buck is to install a stock high stall torque converter.

then add more gear if needed.

I have had night a day results by adding a stock HS TC in a lot of 318s I have had. wakes it right up for a stock 150 HP boat anchor

doing the same thing on my stock 440 truck,I already have 3.91sg and scratches out the hole

now if you already have a stock HS TC or aftermarket HS TC then adding the edelbroke package may be the next move for more torque out the hole on launch.

best way to build any hot rod is from the rear to front to get the best matched combo

I kinda like the same thing, hole shots and not worried about the top end on the street duty truck
