Not "needed" no... but you'll save probably $1500 not needing a .700 solid roller and T&D's or Jesel's... And you wont need race gas if setup correctly, or to spin it to 7500.... And it will be much more street friendly if thats a concern.

And it'll be alot easier to step up the numbers down the road.

Everyone has preferences, there are more than 2 ways to skin a cat...

11.48 @ 120 with a 1.80 60' 318, stock 1.88 heads, stock 904, Pump Gas, 13 lbs of boost.

9.94 @ 134, 318 on pump gas, 14 lbs w/ Eddies, transbrake 727, 3600 lbs, 3.54 gear and 28's.
