Glad to see others questioning this cars "legendary" status. I have a hard time believing a relatively stock hemi challenger was such a "legend" street racing around Detroit back then.
Had a lightweight '67 Dart with a hot 340 that would smoke stock hemi Challenger without breaking a sweat.
Aluminum flywheel, 4:10's out back and it was wind up and go! By time the other guy hooked up I was already up and gone and that 340 was singling it's song.
The Detroit cars had a considerable hard core reputation, if this car was near stock it was a poser.
